We're a small group of men and women who have spent over 60 years working in the music business combined, both on the stage and behind the scenes. All of us started out in high school bands and moved our way up into the big leagues. We spent years touring the club and small theater circuit. Some of were very successful playing in bands and living the big life. Some of us didn't make it and went to work for bands and production companies as technicians and roadies. Some of us went right to work for the production companies and have spent years working on the road.

Years ago, we were just like you before our careers began, young and curious, but now knowing exactly how to start a career in this exciting industry. Back in the late 1970's and early 1980's when we started our careers, there was no way of obtaining counseling or help in starting a career in the music and production business because the business was in it's infancy at that point. We had to learn the hard way, making mistakes along the way. If we only knew back then what we know now, it would have saved us literally years of time.

We are sharing this information because we get a lot of questions from a lot of young people wanting to know how to start a career in this industry. Do you send me a book or what?

We send you your Applause Guide to Music in either a text file, an MS Word file, or an Adobe PDF file. This allows simple navigation, point and clicking on some cool features, search and find capabilities, and yes, you can print it if you want. We don't send you a big book because it's expensive (we would have to charge you more than a mere fifteen bucks). Printing also wastes paper and precious trees!
